IMPORTANT Reasons to Keep Your Dog Cage Free

Our furry friends are our BEST friends. Why on earth would we confine them to cages? We here at the best dog day care at the Lake of the Ozarks would like to share some VITAL reasons NOT to cage your best friend.

Your dog can't learn to interact with the world in isolation.

There are people who will cage their dog while at work for atleast 8 to 9 hours a day and then an additional 8 hours when sleeping. That is over two thirds of the entire day in a cage! Your precious pet can't learn how to be potty trained or  how to have normal at home experiences while your away if they are tucked in a cage the whole time.

Caging your dog can cause him or her to hurt themselves.

Dogs hate cages. They can feel trapped in a tiny confined space with no room to run around and be themselves. This can cause the dog to try to escape your cage. In the process of trying to escape, they could claw away at the cage door and hurt their paws. They could also hurt their heads by trying to ram the door. There are many possible scenarios, but the point is dogs can try many different ways to escape this prison and in the process, possibly hurt themselves.

Caging can cause serious health and behavior problems, such phobias, separation anxiety, and aggression.

Caging your pet can lead to SO many issues. Your dog can begin to feel separation anxiety from you. They can also develop phobias such as fear of the outside world. Your dog can become aggressive toward you for trying to confine it to a cage.

We treat each pet we have the pleasure of taking care of as if they were our own. Just ask some of our clients:

"Thanks Julie!! You take such good care of my babies!!! Again, I am so happy to have found you!! The pictures are great!!"

"Martin and Brat has a great time. After seeing and smelling so many dogs, Brat and Martin were so tired that they slept all the way home and went to bed early. They must have had  a great time."
